Carlas Mack Obituary

Carlas D. Mack was born April 27th, 1958, to Raymond Clewis and Gladys Butler in Bellville, Austin County, Texas. At an early age she received Christ at Buckhorn Methodist Church in Buckhorn, Texas. She attended Bellville High School where she graduated in 1976.

She later joined Globe Hill Baptist Church, where she continued to serve God faithfully.

Carlas joined in Holy Matrimony to Macco Mack. God blessed her with three children, Tenishia Mack Stanton, Matthew Butler, and Macco Mack Jr.

Carlas was employed at the Brenham State School as a house leader, where she retired after 30 years of service. She was a devoted caregiver to all individuals in her supervision and cared for each of them deeply as if they were a member of her family. She continued to be a caregiver to friends and family after her retirement as it is in her nature to help others in need.

On February 9th, 2023, God called her home. Along with her husband and children, she leaves to cherish her precious memories: her sister, Jewel Barnes of Brenham, Texas; her brother, Kenneth Butler and his wife Evelyn of Houston Texas; five grandsons, Lathen Wharton, Jersiah Stanton, Jeraden Stanton, Joaquin Butler, and Jermari Stanton; one granddaughter, Cache Butler; her nieces, Adnisha Butler, Candice Butler, and Deterrion Sims; her nephews, Kenneth Butler Jr. and Jarvis Butler; also, a host of cousins, niece-in-laws, nephew-in-laws, great nieces, great nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by: both parents, Raymond Clewis and Gladys Butler; her grandmother, Lula Perkins; her sister, Lucretia Clewis; and her nephew, Richard Dwayne Barnes Jr.

An Angel whispered,
"Take my hand and
come with me;
your work here is done."

I went away to a place
where there's no tears nor sorrow,
only laughter and smiles.
There will always be a tomorrow.

As I move amongst the clouds.
I'll look down and smile upon you,
while the angels
sing a heavenly song.

I am not alone.
All who went before
are here;
they awaited my return.

I know you'll grieve
and wish I was still here.
I am here in the memories
you hold dear.

Remember how much I
love you,
and know I took your
love with me.

I did not wish for
you to cry nor feel sad.
My pain is gone and
I am free!

Soon you'll come to me.
Until then,
God will be with you
Just as He's with me.
