Carolyn Marie Lovings

Carolyn Marie Lovings was born on October 1, 1955 to Joseph Beloyne and Shirley Mae (Smith) Jones in Lafayette, Louisiana and was the oldest of seven children. 

Carolyn attended Jack Yates High School and later Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.  She met her future husband, Richard King Lovings in 1972 and married him on September 24, 1974.  Together they loved and raised three children: Quinton Lovings, Quincy Lovings, and Megan Lovings.  Carolyn and family lived in the Houston area where Carolyn worked in accounting for numerous companies and created her own business called “Poetry in a Frame.”  In was during that time that Carolyn also developed a deep, personal relationship with God, the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. As a member of New Light Christian Center, Carolyn loved her role as a “Prayer Warrior” for Christ.  She was known to always be in prayer for others.  Carolyn also loved attending Sunday Service and Wednesday Night Bible Study.  

Carolyn is preceded in death by both her parents, stepsister, Natasha Jones, her granddaughter, Briaysa, and her mother-in-law, Altha Mae (Burns)Lovings.  She leaves behind, her husband of 47 years, Richard, her sons, Quinton and Quincy, her daughter, Megan, and her four grandsons; Amire Lovings, Bryson Lovings, Braylon Lovings, and Charles Simmons, Jr.  Carolyn leaves behind her stepfather, Roosevelt Jones, six sisters, Norma (Marcus) Williams, Shirley Ann Smith, Janee (Ivan) Jackson, Thajauna (Jimmy) Rawlins, Rayvenia Jones, Tonya Jones and four brothers, Greg (Delisa) Belleny, Gary (Marie) Clark, David Clark, and Marvin Clark, and her Godchildren, Christopher Lovings, Sr. and Julie Lovings.  She also leaves a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.  She will be remembered and dearly missed.
