Christopher John Lovings, Jr.

 2001- 2022 

On July 10, 2001, a baby boy was born to Christopher and Jonnett Lovings in Layfette, Louisiana. They found great joy in naming him Christopher John Lovings, Jr.  Being such a special baby who was love by many, he had several AKA names given to him; "Lil C", by his siblings, and "Sherman" which was given to him by his aunt Terri Williams.  In 2019, he graduated from Carencro High school in Layfette, Louisiana.  After graduating high school, he then went to the United States Navy, pursuing his interest in underground welding . 

He attended Remington college, where he found pleasure in studying carpentry. On his days of not studying, Christopher enjoyed listening to music and working out at the gym weekly. He worked at Popeyes in Layfette and later the family moved to Texas in June 2021. Christopher Jr. immediately went to work at Daikin Company in Houston. His present job until his passing was at DSI International, where he enjoyed working with his co-workers and established so many great relationships.  

Christopher Jr., at an early age loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church. While in Layfette, the family attended St. Paul Catholic Church. Until his death, he was a member at House of Refuge Church of God in Christ, Pastor Charles R. Lovings Sr. 

Christopher Jr. is preceded in death by: his grandmother, Larenda Mae Lovings; great grandmother, Missionary Altha Mae Burns Lovings; one aunt, Latasha Boudreaux; one grandpa; and his great-grandpa, Elder Walker Lovings Sr. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: his father, Christopher John Lovings Sr.; his beloved mother, Jonnett Lovings; one sister, Jon’taisia Lovings and two brothers,  Chris’Shawn Lovings and Christian Lovings all of Houston, Texas; his grandmother, Linda Wheeler of Layfette Louisiana; grandfather, Johnston Okpadu of Alanta, Georgia; God-parents, Mr.& Mrs. Gustavia Antoine of Layfette, Louisiana; a special aunt, Terri Lovings Williams of Houston, Texas; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins whom he held dear to him.
