Clarence Edward Crawford, Jr.

Clarence Edward Crawford, Jr. was born on January 1, 1958, in Rockdale, Texas, to the late Clarence Edward Crawford Sr. and Ruthie Mae (Moultrie) Crawford.  At an early age he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and established a foundation of faith that remained with him throughout his life.  He received his education in the Rockdale Independent School District.

After relocating to Austin, Texas, Clarence united with Vision of Hope A.M.E. Church, where he faithfully served under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Mark Washington. He was a devoted member of the Male Chorus and faithfully served on the Hospitality Committee, always willing to lend a helping hand and share his joyful spirit with others. Later, Clarence returned to Lincoln (Doak Springs), Texas, where he reunited with his home church, Morning Star Baptist Church.

Clarence Edward Crawford Jr., affectionately known as "Thumper," was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, strength, and love touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He will always be remembered for his exceptional cooking skills, his infectious laughter, and the deep love he had for his family. His warm spirit, generous heart, and lasting impact will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

On June 26, 2026, Clarence peacefully transitioned from this earthly life at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Clarence Edward Crawford Sr. and Ruthie Mae Crawford; his two sons, Adaryll Crawford and DeQuan Crawford; five sisters, Stacy Ward, Zelma Mitchell, Linda Crawford, Cheryl Crawford, and Cynthia Rhodes-Ezi; and one brother, Terry Dean Crawford.

Clarence leaves to cherish his loving memories: his children, Vernesie Crawford, Anthony Crawford, Issac Crawford and Maya Crawford; two sisters, Yolanda Nelson and Sonja Crawford (Leon) of Lincoln, Texas; two brothers, Dwain Crawford (LaDressa) of Giddings, Texas and Virgil Crawford of Lincoln, Texas; nine cherished grandchildren; four treasured great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
