Colby Lamont Colvin was born November 22, 1998 to Jason and Lawanda (Lester) Colvin in Brenham, Texas. He was a graduate of Brenham High School Class of 2017 and actively participated in community events, athletics and mentoring programs. While in High School, Colby had a desire to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Navy serving 5 years. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer Second Class while pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.
At an early age, he confessed his faith in Christ at New Life Church of God and was active in the Youth Ministry, Texas State Youth Ministry, Gospel Generations and Media Ministry. Colby enjoyed sporting events, fishing, hunting and traveling the world to meet new people and explore different cultures.
To know Colby was to love him. His warm smile, enduring spirit and positive energy was infectious and impacted all that came in contact with him. He will forever be remembered as a loyal and honorable young man, patriot and lifelong friend.
Colby is preceded in death by: his grandmother, Lottie Colvin; grandfather, Joseph Lester; great grandmother, Pinkie Dorsey; great grandmother, Dora Johnson; great grandmother, Leola Thomas; great grandfather, Earl Colvin and uncle, Eric Colvin.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Jason Colvin (Francisca) and Lawanda Lester-Colvin; grandparents, Morris Colvin and Dorothy Lester; siblings, LaDonna Williams, Blake Colvin, Cayla Colvin, Daniella Arredondo and Alex Arredondo; nephew, Logan Williams; aunt, Courtney Colvin-Crawford (Delbert); uncles, Christopher Colvin (Loytaia), Kenneth Lester (Terri) and Donald Lester (Patricia); godmother, Ruby Proctor; and a host of cousins, other close family members and friends.
