Official Obituary of

Dana Floyd Rogers

Dana Rogers Obituary

A baby boy was born to the late Floyd Rogers and Joyce Marie (Hancock) Rogers in Lee County, Texas. He was the fourth of twelve children and was the third son.

He attended and received his formal education at Giddings High School in Giddings, Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Mary’s Baptist Church in Ledbetter, Texas.

Danny met and married Carrie Mathis and with this union they raised a beautiful family.  He was a hardworking husband and father who worked at Wal-Mart for 20+ years. He always had a passion for working on cars, driving semi’s and talking mess. His health slowly deteriorated and he was no longer able to do those things.

God came into the home where he slept comfortably and was very peaceful. He was taken by hand and escorted to the pearly gates where he will not experience any more doctor appointments, dialysis, pain and any other sicknesses. Instead, he will be driving semi-trucks and making people laugh in the clouds forever. Danny is preceded in death by: his parents, Floyd Rogers and Joyce M. Hancock Rogers; paternal grandparents, Elmo J. Rogers and Mary Williams; maternal grandparents, Michael and Ada (Wilson) Hancock; father-in-law, Cloy Mathis; mother-in-law, Lottie M. Mathis; two nieces, Kayla J. Jackson and Sommer A .Mack; and nephew, Erick C. Reliford.

He leaves to cherish wonderful memories: his wife, Carrie M. Rogers of Ledbetter; children, Carla Rogers-Rivera of Bryan, Lalonda Burns of College Station, Shaday Mathis of Brenham, Lee Mathis and James Mathis of Burton; step-mother, Hallie Rogers of Rosharon; 11 siblings, Herman Hancock(Bobbie Jean)of Ledbetter, Marcus Hancock (Kim) of Ledbetter, Teresa Harris (Pastor Stanley Harris) of Brenham, Mickle Rogers (Joyce L.), Brinda Mathis (Claude), Mary Minor (Patrick) of Ledbetter, Toney Rogers of Ledbetter, Barbara Mack (Reggie) of Giddings, Marvis Rogers (Sha Tisha) and Elmus Rogers (Savannah) both of Austin and Tanya Rogers of Hempstead; 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
