Delores Simpson Thompson, a Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend, was a native of Ledbetter, Texas. Delores was born August 3, 1933 to the late Rance Sr. and Lorene (Francis)Simpson.
Delores was baptized at Sweet Home Baptist Church at early age. She met and married Charles Thompson on November 5, 1966. Delores was a fulltime domesticated and home healthcare worker before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, and being a loving mother to all. Later in life, Delores joined Washington Chapel Baptist Church under the
pastorage of Rev. E.E. Garvin. Rev. Perry Gamble served as her pastor for the remaining years of her life.
Delores was the last child remaining from the union of Rance Sr. and Lorene Simpson, both of whom proceeded her in death. Also proceeding her death are 3 sisters: Quedna Gantt, Virginia Washington, and Marjorie Goins; 4 brothers: H.L., Rance, Farris and Antone Simpson; one son, Donald; and her husband, Charles Thompson.
Delores survivors include: two sons, Cecil Tarver of Bryan, TX, Lorenzo Carter (Alice) of Baytown, TX; Four grandchildren; Lamarcus, Donald, Sierrha, and Shanel. Nine great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Gloria Simpson of Fort Worth, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
