Emma Lewis was born October 17, 1952, to Eddie and Claudia (Daniels) Lewis and was raised in Giddings, Texas. An only child, she was surrounded by a close circle of lifelong friends who became like family. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Bethel Union Baptist Church in Giddings, where she served in the youth ministry and as a Youth Choir musician.
She graduated from Giddings High School in May 1971 and went on to build a fulfilling career, including service with the Texas State Senate and many years in the insurance industry. She found genuine joy in her work and treasured the friendships she built with her co-workers along the way. Most recently, she worked remotely for Boon-Chapman, an Austin-based insurance administrator.
