Helen Davis Oliver Obituary

Helen Marie Davis was born April 11, 1949 in Brenham, Texas to the late Wesley and Reva Mae (Knox) Davis.  She was the youngest of three children.  Growing up in Giddings, Texas, she attended grade school in the Giddings School District.  She later graduated from Austin Anderson High School in Austin, Texas.

At an early age, Helen accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at St. Paul Baptist Church.  She became a member early in life, and continued to keep faith in God.

Helen attended Prairie View A&M University.  She resided in Austin for a few years, before later relocating to Houston, Texas.  Her career led her to Managment at Texas Department of Human Services.  Her many dedicated years of service led to her retirement on April 30, 2004.

Helen was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  She also loved Texas A&M Aggies and University of Wisconsin sports teams.  

On October 23, 2023, Helen answered her Master's call to sweet rest.  She is preceded in death by:  her parents; grandparents; one brother, John Wesley Daniels; and one nephew, Cranston Daniels.

Left to cherish her memories are:  her only son, Rev. Dwayne Davis of Houston, Texas; one brother, Johnny Lee Davis(Martha) of Austin, Texas; nephews, Anthony Davis of Austin, Texas and Danny Daniels of Dallas, Texas; nieces, Teresa Davis, Debra Carter and Dorothy Davis of Austin, Texas; special friend, Roshawn Hall of Houston, Texas; her close friends, Dortha, Beverly and Sister Livings all of Houston, Texas; and a host of cousins and friends.
