Jerald Gilmon Obituary

Jerald Dewayne Gilmon was born on Tuesday, March 4, 1969 at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston, Texas to proud parents, Henry Gilmon II and Tommie Lee (Mitchell) Gilmon.  He soon became known as “Pee Wee” to many of his family and friends.

Jerald accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.  He was baptized at Christ Way Full Gospel Church in Burton, Texas by Pastor Wayne Davis.

Jerald received his formal education and graduated from Burton High School.  He made an excellent choice in pursuing a career in truck driving.  He later became the proprietor of J&R Trucking.

Jerald had an overwhelming interest in horse riding and he definitely loved classic cars.  This led him to join the Capital City Corvette Club.  He was also affiliated with Big 6 and Double Trey Association.

Jerald was the father of two sons, Reginald and Jerrid, whom shared a mutual love for their father.  His sense of humor and witty conversations caused him to be a very loved and admired person by all who came into his reach.  He always knew how to bring laughter and joy to any environment.

On Tuesday, August 3, 2021 the Lord saw fit to reroute Jerald in a new direction, which led him to sweet rest.  He was preceded in death by:  his grandfather, Tom Mitchell; aunt, Dorothy Taplin; and uncles, Herbert Alford and Curtis Estes.

Countless memories will remain in the hearts of those he cherished: his parents, Henry and Tommie Lee Gilmon of Burton, Texas; a special friend whom he loved dearly, LaJune Sims of Giddings, Texas; two sons, Reggie Gilmon(Shelby) of Ledbetter, Texas and Jerrid Gilmon(Marisa) of Burton, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Xavier, Reagan, Re’Jahna, Reggie Jr., Princeton, Treyden, Reyden, Ra’Niyah, Ri’Leigh, Karter and Jerrid, Jr.; one sister, Kimberly Moore(Michael) of Burton, Texas; two brothers, Henry Gilmon III(Josephine) of Burton, Texas and Henry Anderson of Brenham, Texas; a loving grandmother, Adell Gilmon of Burton, Texas; two aunts, Joyce Newsome of Houston, Texas and Mae Etta Bradley of Burton, Texas; his favorite uncle, Chastene Mitchell of Houston, Texas; and an abundance of other relatives and friends.
