Lawrence Williams was born February 6, 1941 in Giddings, Lee County, Texas to Mr. Rogers Williams and Mattie (Shields) Williams.
Lawrence grew up in the Lee County area and attended local schools. As a young adult, he moved to Houston, Texas, where he held several jobs. He worked in the construction industry for several years, as a cement mason and concrete finisher. After retiring, from the construction industry, he went on to work for Morris Tree Hauling Service for many years. He was a very devoted and hard worker.
Lawrence later met the love of his life, Gloria Ann (Baker) Williams, with whom he spent forty-five years of holy bliss. In addition, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and attended God's Way Community Church at 8321 Woodard Street in Houston, Texas, under the Leadership of Pastor Charles Walker.
Lawrence departed from this life on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 9:23 p.m. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Rogers and Mattie (Shields) Williams; his love, Gloria Ann (Baker) Williams; one sister, Pauline (Williams) Eans; and one brother, Robert J. Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three sisters, Minnie Gaines, Eula Brown(Joe), and Pearlie Williams(Harris); three brothers, Rogers Williams, Jr.(Doris), James Williams and Roy D. Williams(Gloria); four step-children, Andrea(Baker) McGowen, Glenda and Linda Baker(twins), and Abe Baker; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
