Lessa Sheppard Obituary

Lessa Mechel Sheppard was born on February 26, 1971, in Giddings, Texas, to James Ray and Gloria Ann (Francis) Sheppard. She embraced her faith in Christ at an early age at Saint Paul Baptist Church(Old) and later became a member at Corinth Baptist Church (New Corinth).

Lessa graduated from Johnston High School in Austin, Texas, where she also excelled as a track athlete. She embarked on a fulfilling career journey, starting at Randall's in 2007, where she served as a dedicated manager for approximately 13 years until her early retirement. Later, she concluded her customer service career at Brookshire Brothers in Giddings, Texas.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Lessa found immense joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Known for her cooking, hospitality, event planning, and love for dancing, she embodied the essence of a devoted mother. In her spare time, she cherished playing cards with her older sister, Ruby.

Lessa departed from this life on April 19, 2024, in Giddings, Texas. She is preceded in death by: her parents, James and Gloria Sheppard; paternal grandparents, Ped and Mammie(Roberson) Sheppard; maternal grandparents, Nathaniel and Erma(Rogers) Francis; and two sisters, Nona Mae and Gloria Viola "Pam" Sheppard.

Left to cherish her memories are: her daughter, Tenishia Mack of New Braunfels, Texas; two sons, Floyd Williams and Rashaan Greene of Houston, Texas; her bonus child, Denishia Sheppard of Austin, Texas; She also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Lathen, Jersiah, Amani, Jeraden, Jack, and Jermari. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters, Ruby Sheppard of Austin, Texas, and Carlene Sheppard of Houston, Texas, and her brothers, Kenneth Sheppard of Killeen, Ewell Sheppard of Austin, Texas, and Clifton Holloway of Giddings, Texas.
