Linda Faye Jackson was born on December 27, 1960, in Brenham, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Jimmie Heard, Sr. and Martha (White) Heard.
At an early age, Linda began her Christian journey and united with Porter Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Independence, Texas. She received her education in the Brenham Independent School District, attending Alton Elementary, Brenham Elementary, Brenham Middle School, and Brenham High School.
On May 16, 1980, Linda united in holy matrimony with Mosevelt Jackson, Jr. Together, they raised a beautiful family and shared their love abundantly.
Linda began her working career at Sweetbriar Nursing Center in the early 1970s. She later dedicated many years of service to Brenham State School. After her retirement, she continued working as a clerk at Grover Hankins Law Firm in Houston, Texas. Linda was actively involved in her community and was affiliated with the Black Panther Party of Houston, along with many other progressive organizations.
On Sunday, January 18, 2026, Linda answered her Master’s call home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie Heard, Sr. and Martha Heard; her son, Rosevelt Dewain Jackson; and her siblings, Sherle Nickerson, Leonard Heard (her twin), Mary Kennerson, Lloyd Heard, Josie King, Ophelia Talton, Marylin LaBome, and Robert Heard.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her devoted husband, Mosevelt Jackson, Jr.; her children, Natisha Heard, Brandon Jackson, and Crystal Jackson; four grandchildren, Zandre Williams, Latavia Arriola, Brenson Smith, and Noah Z. Jackson; her siblings, Jimmie Heard, Jr., Gayle Heard and Shirley Davis; her stepmother-in-law, Minnie Jackson; her brothers-in-law, Carl Kennerson, Wilton Jackson(Georgia), Christopher Jackson(Vivian), Jimmy Jackson(Janie), Henry Wilson(Kim) and Douglas Burns; her sisters-in-law, Emma Samuels, Angelina Taplin, Marilyn Calloway, Denise Cooper and Linda Burns; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
