On Wednesday, November 15, 1939, in Chappel Hill, Texas, Willis and Susie (Hill) Chappel were blessed with a handsome baby boy. They named him Lonnie Chappel. He was affectionately known as "Whistle Britches" and "Brother".
Lonnie was an auto mechanic. If you wanted to know anything about repairing a vehicle, Lonnie was the man to see. He valued life and loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded death by: his parents, Willis and Susie Chappel; his grandson, Blake Washington; his daughter, Yolanda "Tut" Chappel; his brother, Willis Chappel, Jr.; five sisters, Elsie McMillian, Hazel Dickerson, Lou Willie Chappel, Annie Bellville and Maude Dean.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Patricia Chappel of Lexington, Texas; three sons, Lonnie Jerome Chappel, Telly Chappel(Christina) and Chance Chappel all of Rosenberg, Texas; his bonus children, Cynthia Roberson, Stephanie Dickerson, Anthony Dickerson and Deatrice Jackson; two sisters, Eddie Mae Morton and Carolyn Franklin both of Temple, Texas; one brother, Danny Chappel of Houston, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
