Mildred Jackson Andrews Obituary

On March 15, 1950, in Monroe, Louisiana, a beautiful baby girl named Mildred Aline Hurst was born to Wilford and Alta Lois Hurst. She was raised in Houston, Texas, where she attended and graduated from Milby High School.

Mildred married Claudie W. Jackson on August 14, 1974. From this union, two sons were born: Kevin W. Jackson and Jerome M. Jackson. Claudie W. Jackson preceded her in death. Later in life, she found love again and married Charlie Andrews on November 7, 2009. He remained a devoted and loving husband by her side until her passing.

Mildred had a deep love for fishing and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She dedicated many years of service to Brenham State School before retiring. Her passion for helping others led her back to the workforce, where she continued serving at Village Nursing until her health no longer allowed.

Mildred accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior on October 27, 2013, under the leadership of Pastor Joel Withem at Brazos Valley Worship Center in Bryan, Texas.

On Wednesday evening, March 18, 2026, Mildred peacefully took her final breath. She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Claudie W. Jackson; her parents; three sisters, Elvina, Helen, and Irene Faciane; three brothers, Merle, Doris, and Ralph Faciane, all of Slidell, Louisiana; and one granddaughter, Kayla Jackson.

Left to cherish her memory and legacy of love are: her children, Kevin W. Jackson and Jerome M. Jackson; stepson, Claudie W. Jackson, Jr. (Sharon); stepson, Curtis J. Jackson, Sr. (Rachel); stepdaughters, Carlene Collins and Velma Thomas; stepson, Dennis Jackson of Dime Box, Texas; stepdaughter, Beverly Johnson of Mesquite, Texas; stepson, Ronnie Jackson (Clara Jean) of Lexington, Texas; stepdaughter, Nell Rose Franklin (Edward) of Ledbetter, Texas; and stepdaughter, Ada Mae Hogues. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mildred will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her unwavering faith, and the love she shared so freely with family and friends.
