Peggy Ann Huff was born on August 5, 1956, in Giddings, Texas, to her loving parents, the late Luther J. Huff Sr. and Irene (Shipman) Huff. She was the eighth of ten children born to this union.
Peggy was taught about Christ at an early in life and was baptized at a young age at Post Oak Baptist Church in Ledbetter, Texas. Her faith in God continued throughout her life. She became a member of Parkway Baptist Church where she served in the Children’s Ministry, and later Mt. Zion Baptist Church, before becoming a member of Grace Church in Humble, Texas. At Grace Church, she was an active member who served as an usher and a leader in the children’s ministry. She also went on a mission trip to London with Grace Church to help distribute Bibles. Her strong Christian faith led her to research and help make Post Oak Baptist Church in Ledbetter, Texas a historic monument, where her faith journey began.
Peggy attended school at Post Oak Community School during her primary years and later integrated into the Giddings School District, where she graduated in May of 1974. After graduation, she moved to Houston, Texas, where she attended Texas Southern University and later began her career with the United States Postal Service. She worked there for 36½ years before retiring. She began her path as an entrepreneur, starting her own business called Pillow EZ, where she patented and sold her products at Walmart. She later went on to work at Home Depot in Austin and Houston, Texas for more than 10 years.
Peggy was a loving and caring mother, grandmother (“Grand P”), sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her. She was always willing to be there for everyone, lending a helping hand and giving advice whenever it was needed. She was known for her kindness, humility, and the warm smile she always carried. She was very dedicated and sacrificed her life for her children, grandchildren, and family, surrounding them with love and always being there for them. She especially enjoyed watching them play sports, dance, cheer, and attending their graduations. She was incredibly proud of them all and deeply grateful for the love of her family.
Peggy passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of February 24, 2026. She is preceded in death by: her parents, Luther J. Huff Sr. and Irene (Shipman) Huff; four brothers, Talmadge Huff, Luther J. Huff Jr., Elmore Huff and Bobby Huff; and one sister, Lillian R. Punchard.
