Quillie C. Roberson Jr. was born on July 2, 1955 in Lebetter, (Lee County), Texas to the late Q.C. Roberson and Bettie Jo (Lewis) Roberson.
Quillie Jr. attended Giddings Elementary School and was given the nickname "Cowboy". His family relocated to Houston, Texas at the age of 12. He then attended Ryan Middle School and Jack Yates Senior High School. After high school, he furthered his education by attending welding school. He received a certificate and worked in the welding field for many years. He later went to truck driving school and acquired his CDL lisence. He drove 18-wheeler trucks for several years until retirement.
Quillie met the love of his life, Carol Shelby and they united in Holy matrimony. This union of over 47 years, birthed three beautiful daughters, Mersades, Lisha and Latonya.
Quillie was a smooth operator. Every time you saw him, he was sharp as a tack from head to toe. One thing for sure, when the music turned on, he was the first one to the dance floor...swinging out.
Quillie is preceded in death by: his parents, Q.C. and Bettie Jo Roberson; his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Paralee Roberson; maternal grandparents, John and Rebecca Lewis; and his nephew, Jermaine Copeland.
Quillie leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved wife of 47 years, Carol Roberson; three lovely daughters, Mersades Shelby, Lisha Shelby and Latonya Shelby; 13 grandchildren, Raymond, Michelle, Chanelle, Jadon, Steven, Raymone, Rayvaughn, Chase, Camille, Taliyah, Chloyi, Cue and Reagan; 5 great-grandchildren, Marquelle, Skylar, Myzi, Caiden and Violet. He also leaves two sisters, Bettie Joyce Copeland(Jimmy) and Josie Nell Young(Carl); two brothers, D'undre "Pig" Roberson(Shontell) and Damia Roberson(Eboni); his God sons, Deshun "Dolla" Mims and Derrick "Kirk" Thompson; bonus children, Jefferey Franklin, Jr. and Keyia Franklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whom he loved.
