On a beautiful cold day, March 3, 1944, a beautiful baby girl was born to Rev. David Isaac and Josephine Stoglin Isaac. They named her Ruth Lee Isaac. She was affectionately called Ruthie.
Ruth grew up in Smithville, Texas in a section called Bunte Town. She attended school and graduated from Mary A. Brown High School in Smithville.
Ruth professed her faith in Christ at an early age. She was baptized and attended New Flower Hill Baptist Church in Smithville, Texas. There she participated in Sunday School, choir, and other programs.
In September of 1969, Sis. Goins met the love of her life, Rev. Robert E. Goins. She lovingly called him Sugar. They married on December 5, 1969, and Rev. Q. S. Goins performed the ceremony. To this union, 2 children were born. Together, Rev. and Sis. Goins served the community through church and local organizations. Sis. Goins enjoyed being a First Lady and served in all capacities in the church. She especially loved singing and serving in the missionary society. She also worked in the district and state level for the La Grange Baptist District Association and the Baptist Missionary and Education State Convention.
On Tuesday, January 2, 2024, Sis. Goins made her triumphant transition from labor to reward. She is preceded in death by her parents Rev. David and Josephine Isaac, sister Beulah Leonard, and brothers David Jr, Floyd, and Samuel Isaac.
Sis. Goins leaves her beautiful memories to her husband of 54 years, Rev. R. E. Goins, sons Darrell Vincent and Robert Goins, II, daughter Vyrice Goins O’Neal, and granddaughter Keaira O'Neal. She also leaves memories to her niece who is more like a daughter, Linda (Lonnie) Drisdale, sister in laws: Alice Isaac, Daisy McDowell, and Alice (Pastor L.O.) Lang, and a host of friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
