On Wednesday, October 21, 1964, in Abilene, Taylor County, Texas a double bundle of joy was born to James Earl and Wilma Jean (Goins) Lang. They proudly named their son, Tenola Glynn Lang, along with his twin sister, Regale Lynn Lang. He was affectionately known as Glynn, by most of his family and friends.
At an early age, Glynn accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He placed his hope in Christ at New Hope Baptist Church in Rockdale, Texas under the leadership of his father, Pastor James Lang. His Christian journey led him to fellowship at the various churches his father pastored. He also served under the leadership of his uncles, Pastor R.E. Goins I(Sweet Home B.C. and New Hope B.C. of Giddings, Texas) and Pastor L.O. Lang(Sandy Creek B.C. of Brenham, Texas).
Glynn received his formal education in Giddings Independent School District. He later married Jackie Merida of Caldwell, Texas and together they began a beautiful family. He delightfully shared in the ministry of the Gospel, as he began to grow in Lord. Whether speaking, singing or witnessing, he loved to praise God with a joyful noise.
In February of 2020, he married Debra Powell Breaux where together they resided in Brazoria County, Texas. With this union, he gained an abundance of children and grandchildren. He later united with Galilee Baptist Church in Brazoria, Texas under Pastor Booker T. Randon and Evangelist Suzanne Randon.
On the morning of Tuesday, May 2, 2023, while in the devoted and tender care of his daughter, Tenola Glynn Lang, Sr. answered his Master's call. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Wilma Lang; maternal grandparents, Deacon Arthur Goins Sr. and Estella (Joiner) Goins and paternal grandparents, Tenola Lang and Reverend Inez (Thompson) Lang.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his lovely wife, Debra Breaux-Lang of Sweeny, Texas; four children, Shalanda Lang(Pernell Roberson) of Sweeny, Texas, Anthony Lang(Alyssa) of Lexington, Texas, Tenola Glynn Lang, Jr. of Giddings, Texas and Joy Washington of Smithville, Texas; nine grandchildren, Alexis Lang, Tayshaun Lang, Tyree Roberson, Aaliyah Roberson, Aiden Lang, Axton Lang, Jeremiah Lang, Azeil Tilley and Ja'Neiya Washington; three sisters, Regale Lynn Lang(his twin), Estelle Gregory(Gil) and Toshiba Thomas(Lawrence, Jr.) all of Giddings, Texas; five step-children, Darnisha McClaren(Terry), Melvin Bradshaw, Darnell Breaux, Dalton Breaux III and DeAndre Bradshaw; 20 step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
