Tommie Lee Sheppard was born on Sunday, January 21, 1965, in Burleson County, Texas, to Earl Sheppard and Lillie Fay (Burns) Sheppard. He was raised in the Doak Springs Community of Lee County, Texas. He was educated in Lexington Independent School District and carried with him throughout his life a deep appreciation for hard work and community.
Tommie had a true passion for helping others, a love that reflected his strong connection to his roots. Above all, he cherished his family and the time spent with them, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lillie Sheppard; four siblings, Verdlee Sheppard, Aaron Sheppard, Early Sheppard, and Nancy Allen; one niece, Latasha Sheppard; his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Arie (Knox) Burns; and paternal grandparents, Ped Sheppard and Mamie (Bradley) Sheppard.
He leaves to cherish his memory six siblings: Angeline Gallion of Caldwell, Texas; Lillie Johnson of Temple, Texas; Dorothy Prazak and Bernice Moore, both of Rockdale, Texas; Rosie Johnson of Dime Box, Texas; and Freddie Sheppard (Charity) of Caldwell, Texas. He is also survived by his uncle, Bill Sheppard of Dime Box, Texas, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
