Welton Green Jr. was born on September 25, 1947, in the West Texas region, to the late Welton Green Sr. and Beatrice (Jones) Green. He received his early education in Giddings, Texas, and proudly graduated from Giddings High School.
Welton went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Army. His commitment to duty, discipline, and courage reflected not only in his military service but in every aspect of his life.
While mapping out his true career goals, Welton gathered valuable work experience. While in Dallas, Texas, he began employment with a local furniture store where he was responsible for moving and delivering furniture. He later stepped into a management role at an apartment complex, where he demonstrated strong leadership and reliability.
Ultimately, he discovered his calling to the open road. Taught by his beloved big brother, Carl, he learned to drive 18-wheelers—beginning a lifelong journey behind the wheel. Truck driving wasn’t just a job for him; it was a way of life. He traveled countless miles across the country, always with dedication and pride. Even up until his passing, Welton continued doing what he loved most—driving trucks and embracing the freedom of the open road.
A man of deep faith, Welton was a faithful member of Bethel St. Paul United Baptist Church, where he worshiped and nurtured his spiritual life. His walk with Christ was evident in his humility, kindness, and steadfast love for others.
Welton deeply loved his family and treasured every moment spent with them. His loyalty, generosity, and warm presence left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. In his free time, he enjoyed cheering for his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers.
On August 26, 2025, Welton Green Jr. answered the call of his Heavenly Father and entered into eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice Jones Green and Welton Green Sr.; his brother, Rodney Green; and his sisters, Linda Green, Sheila Green, Annie Jarmon, Joyce Gentry, and Beverly Perkins.
Though his earthly journey has ended, Welton's memories will be cherished by those he loved, including: Keith Davis, Derrick Curtis, Eric Curtis, Shiniqua Dismuke, Sarah Green, Augusts Hill, Romona Grant, and Carlous Hill; his brothers, Carl Green and Johnnie Green (Brenda) of Lexington, Texas, Thomas Green of Giddings, Texas, Frederick Green (Beverly) of Ft.
